PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of a cylinder block due to the axial fastening force of a bolt, when fixing a cylinder block and a cylinder head, by making said force lower at both ends of a cylinder row than at the central side of cylinder row. CONSTITUTION:An engine 1 is equipped with a cylinder block 3 formed with a row of cylinder bores 2 and a cylinder head 5 mounted on it through a gasket 4, where the cylinder head 5 is coupled through a plurality of fastening bolts 6 with the cylinder block 3. Here the axial fastening force of the bolt 6 is made lower at both ends than the central portion such that it is approximately 1/2 or slightly higher at both ends than the central portion. Consequently the deformation of the cylinder block 3 shown by a virtual line can be relieved to prevent defective air-tightness, abrasion of piston and cylinder. |
