PURPOSE:To easily switch contents of a memory by providing a switching means which switches the contents of the memory by the repetition of stepping-on operation. CONSTITUTION:This scale consists of a CPU 20, a differential amplification part 24 which outputs the difference between the output values of strain gauges 22 and 23, a reset part 30 which operates with a weight switch 31 turned on when a person steps on a measurement table, etc. When the switch 31 is turned on for the 1st time, the CPU 20 enters a normal mode from a stand-by mode and starts operating. At this time, a numeral N is set to '1' as an initial value and a timer which monitors whether the switch 31 is turned on subsequently and successively is started. Then, while the contents of the memory indicated by the numeral N are displayed, it is checked whether the switch 31 is turned on again and when the switch is on for longer than specific seconds, it is judged that somebody is one the weight scale, so that the weight is measured. When the switch is tuned off temporarily and turned on, the numeral N is increased by one, the timer is cleared, and the contents of the memory indicated by the numeral N and the numeral N are displayed.
