PURPOSE:To enable to effectively operate a steering system for an outboard engine even if the steering becomes heavy by providing hydraulic chambers between a swivel bracket and a steering pivot and hydraulically steering the system. CONSTITUTION:Left and right hydraulic chambers 7A, 7B are formed between the swivel bracket 4 which is mounted on a stern 1 and a steering pivot 6 of an outboard engine 2. Hydraulic pressure is alternately introduced through a control valve to the chambers, thereby steering the engine to the left or right. Since the engine is steered hydraulically, the system can be effectively steered even if the steering becomes heavy. |
