<p>PURPOSE:To ensure the firm installation of a drum brake by forming a flange, to which both the anchor pin of a mechanical type drum brake and a boss for securing a brake cam pivotally are directly installed, in one body with a knuckle arm by casting. CONSTITUTION:A knuckle arm includes a knuckle arm main body 1 where both a cylindrical bearing housing 2 for securing a king pin 10 rotatably at its base end and a shaft 3 to support a front wheel rotatably at its tip end, are provided in one body. And a roughly ellips-shaped flange 4 is formed in one body at the center section of the knuckle arm formed as described above. And a steering plate 5 to be connected with a tie-rod extending horizontally afterward is pressed with pressure into the outer circumference of the bearing housing 2, and a bush 6 is coupled with the inside of a hole. And an anchor pin 7 and a boss 8 for rotatably supporting a brake cam 15 are pressed with pressure into both ends of the major axis of the flange 4 whereby the anchor pin 7 and the brake cam 15 are made to face the inside of a brake drum 16 which is rotatably supported by the shaft 3.</p> |
