The optical fibre is provided with a multilayer fibre buffer which consists of a coating (BS) bearing directly against the optical fibre (LW), a subsequent soft intermediate layer (ZS) and a hard cladding layer (MA). Inserted between the coating (BS) and the intermediate layer (ZS) are separating means (TM) which prevent said layers from adhering to one another, as a result of which there is a substantial simplification in the way which they can be removed. <IMAGE>
