The invention is described in its essential features: the alarm system is intended for locks, such as U-locks and removable bicycle locks, and is to give the alarm by a warning sound when the blocking member of the lock is severed. The invention is illustrated in the drawing. This shows (1) a spring or rubber in the blocking member; (2) a circuit breaker; (3) a tensioned part in the form of a spring; (4) a battery as a current source; (5) a hooter as an alarm system. Functioning: when the blocking member having the inner spring is severed, the circuit breaker closes by means of the tensioned part as a spring (drawing 3), and the electrical current which now flows activates the alarm system. <IMAGE>
