Method and apparatus for removing particulate material and boiler water additives from saturated pressurised steam, using a composite cartridge, particulate material being removed by a filter tube and boiler water additives being removed by contacting the filtered steam with a bed of a strongly acidic ion exchanger resin in the hydrogen form and saturated pressurised steam, which is essentially free from particulate material and volatile alkaline boiler water additives, is obtained, for example, for use in food manufacture and for sterilisation purposes. |
