An electrical display device with a resistance-type sensor equipped with or without warning signal transmitter for measuring and indicating physical quantities, particularly temperatures, pressure and volume in vehicles, including monitoring of the functional capability of the display device, the instantaneous resistance value of the sensor being monitored by means of a window comparator followed by an amplifier and an optical and/or acoustic signal transmitter. The warning signal transmitter is constructed as comparator followed by amplifier and signal transmitter.
