According to the invention, the delay device contains a multiplicity of RAM memories (4), of which in each case always two are assigned an individual transducer element, and the storage capacity of each RAM memory (4) corresponds to at least the maximum delay time (tmax) of the transducer arrangement. The construction of the delay device (2) of in each case one transducer element increases the number of memories per transducer element, drives the control of the delay device (2) for each transducer element independently of the adjacent transducer element, and it is possible to implement practically any arbitrary delay time (tv). <IMAGE>
