The invention relates to an accordion with a descant part, a bellows and a bass part. The bass part has a filling which supports bass and second reed boards with corresponding reeds and valves and is provided with associated sound holes which can be closed by flaps actuated by flap levers. In order that sounds with a folklore character can be produced, the bass reed board is of bent design, occupies essentially the inner space of the bellows and has in the bent-off part both the reeds and valves for the fundamental bass and also for the supplementary bass, the respective fundamental bass and supplementary bass tones in each case being assigned a common sound hole in the filling, while the second reed board is designed as a lying reed board.
