PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reception with a single digital broadcast receiver to view plural broadcasts at the same time band by providing pluralities of means that decode a digital signal encrypted by pay broadcast through the use of a key obtained from an IC card or the like. SOLUTION: A first tuner section 202 applies processings such as demodulation to a selected channel and provides the output of an MPEG transport stream, and a 1st descrambling section 204 uses a key obtained from an IC card 211 to decode encrypted data for pay viewing. Then a first data separating section 206 separates video data or the like of a program which is selected by the user from the transport stream, an MPEG decoding section 208 decodes the compressed video and audio data and converts the data into video and audio data viewed through monitors at home. A CPU 210 controls blocks and applies similar processing to a system of a second tuner section 203 as well. |
