摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-point range finder by which surer and more highly accurate range-finding is executed by selecting data applied for automatic focusing operation from the range-finding data of plural range-finding points. SOLUTION: This device possesses a center part range-finding means 1a executing the range-finding of the center part to a photographic image plane and outputting first range-finding data, a peripheral part range-finding means 1b executing the range- finding of the peripheral part of the photographic image plane and outputting second range-finding data, first and second reliability data outputting means 2a and 2b calculating and outputting the data showing the reliability of the first and second range-finding data, a first discriminating means 3a discriminating the validity/invalidity of the first range-finding data by comparing the output value of the first reliability data outputting means 2a with a first reliability judging level value and a second discriminating means 3b discriminating the validity/invalidity of the second range-finding data by comparing the output value of the second reliability data outputting means 2b with a second reliability judging level value set at a value stricter than the first reliability judging level value and a selecting means 5 selecting and outputting desired data out of the effective data in the first and second range-finding data.
