PURPOSE:To improve cutting of an ink at the time of stopping the jetting of the ink, by facing an ink jet head and a shielding body to each other immediately before stopping the supply of an ink to the head when completing printing. CONSTITUTION:When printing is not conducted, a slidable base 17 is moved to the left side of a carriage 16 to cause a nozzle part of the ink jet head 6 to be faced to the shielding body 15(a). When starting printing, a solenoid valve 4 is opened to supply the ink 2 to the head 6 under pressure, and after the ink 2 starts to be jetted from the nozzle 12, the base 17 is moved from the left side to the right side of the carriage 16 to face the nozzle part of the head 6 to charging electrodes 8, and printing is started (b). When completing printing, the base 17 is moved to the left side of the carriage 16 to face the nozzle part of the head 6 to the shielding body 15 under the condition wherein ink droplets 7 are jetted from the head 6, and then the valve 4 is closed to stop the supply of the ink 2 to the head 6. |
