The invention relates to a compound link rear axle with wheels driven by a drive shaft (universal shaft) by way of a differential axle transmission and drive half shafts, in which each wheel is guided by a flexurally and torsionally rigid longitudinal link and the two longitudinal links are firmly connected to one another by a flexurally rigid but torsionally soft cross strut in the area of their ends swivel-mounted on the vehicle body, the differential axle transmission housing being supported in at least three points and at the same time resting by at least one bearing point on the cross strut, whilst the other bearing point(s) is/are connected to the vehicle body. <IMAGE>
