In a reflectometer, a single-sideband signal is generated from the radio-frequency measuring frequency and a constant audio frequency and mixed with the forward signal and the return signal. The mixed products at the audio frequency are evaluated for determining the amplitude ratio and phase difference. When a processor is used for measuring and evaluating, the audio frequency is derived from the clock frequency of the processor.
