The invention relates to a process and a device for the continuous application or introduction of impregnating and/or glazing liquid to workpieces. In the device according to the main patent, the application device for the abovementioned liquid consists of paired endless belts abutting against opposed workpiece surfaces, driven at the same speed as the workpieces, and with numerous small-volume deformable chambers arranged close together and open towards the workpiece surface. The working run of the endless belt is loaded with the required contact pressure by closely adjacent pressure rollers on the workpiece side. The present invention proposes using, instead of the pressure rollers, a pressing device consisting of a driven endless roller plate belt, free-running endless roller chains and pressure blades which run mutually parallel in the direction of motion of the endless belt. These pressing devices surround the endless belt both laterally, at the outer edges, and also at the rear, from where the pressure is applied, over the whole surface and without gaps, so that a constantly increasing impregnation pressure can be reliably produced under all conditions, especially even at high contact pressures.
