Device for measuring and regulating the length of springs in a spring coiling machine

The device is used for measuring and regulating the length of springs in a spring coiling machine. The pitch of the spring turns is determined by means of a measurement tool, which can be adjusted transversely with respect to the spring axis, while the spring is being wound. If the actual pitch does not correspond with the required pitch, a control signal is emitted via a measurement element to a control device which instantaneously readjusts a pitch tool, during the winding of the spring, via the readjusting device. In consequence, the winding process is monitored and influenced at all times during the winding of the spring such that each spring is within its permissible length tolerance limits.
