In an arrangement for ultrasonic roller welding, the rotationally symmetrical ultrasonic horn (Sonotrode) is widened out in a trumpet-shaped manner. The ultrasonic oscillation is by this means transmitted to the work surface such that the latter oscillates perpendicular to the workpiece. By this means, the high mechanical loading of the workpiece and tool, such as occurs in the transverse rubbing of known roller-welding arrangements, is eliminated. By contactless measurement of the sound amplitude at the work surface, the quality of the welded bond can be checked by means of a control loop and be maintained. It is particularly advantageous to arrange two ultrasonic horns, which are excited in phase with one another, at the welding point on both sides of the material to be welded. By this means, the amplitude for the individual ultrasonic horns can be kept much smaller. |
