The draw rod (19) of a single vacuum unit (16) acting at partial load is pivoted by way of a journal (22) on the breaker plate assembly (13) of the ignition distributor. In a similar manner a single vacuum unit (17) acting only when idling acts on the breaker plate assembly (13), the pivoting being performed by an elongated hole (23) in the draw rod (18) acting in concert with the journal (22), with the result that both single vacuum units are disconnected in their advanced ignition timing adjustment. By means of the two single vacuum units (16, 17) it is possible to advance the ignition timing point by up to 15 degrees. <IMAGE>
