In false-twist texturing, the yarn pull in the false-twist zone is an essential indicator of the quality of the crimped yarn. If a friction false twister consisting of two endlessly rotating friction surfaces gripping the yarn between them is used, the yarn pull is regulated at a constant value by controlling the force, with which the friction surfaces are pressed against one another, as a function of the measured yarn pull.
