Awning for covering containers and method of manufacturing it

The invention relates to an awning provided with four attachment flaps for covering rectangular containers which are open at the top and have four corner posts. The awning is prepared as a semi-finished product in such a way that the flaps attached to the two ends of the awning are longer than the distance between the corner posts provided at the ends, while the two other flaps are longer than the distance measured at the longitudinal side of the container between two corner posts. It is established by trial covering of the container where the attachment means are to be attached in the flaps and which parts have to be cut off to produce the finished awning so that an awning which is accurately matched to the relevant container can be produced in a simple manner.
