Transport basket for annealing furnaces, particularly roller hearth furnaces, the floor of the basket consisting of U-shaped rails which are connected, movable for expansion, by horizontally positioned bolts. The longitudinal sides are held by columns which come formally from the outer longitudinal rails, and wall portions in between, held in the columns but movable for expansion. The longitudinal rails have different web heights corresponding to the different section modulus when the basket rolls over the hearth rollers. The end walls are represented by several mutually aligned partial pieces fastened with brackets between the longitudinal rails by bolts. The annealing basket is shown in plan view in the accompanying drawing (Fig. 1). It is used for conveying material for annealing in annealing furnaces, particularly roller hearth furnaces. <IMAGE>
