PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satellite communication system capable of eliminating inconvenience due to the non-matching of a control main body and to provide a route control method for the satellite communication system and a record medium in which the route control program is stored. SOLUTION: In the case that the utilization of a logical communication path is requested from a client computer 50, the logical communication path from a server computer 51 to the client computer 50 is selected and a route setting procedure is performed to a communication relay system so as to connect the selected logical communication path to the server computer 51 and the client computer 50. In the case that the utilization end of the logical communication path is informed from the client computer 50, the route control of the logical communication path utilized by the client computer is released.
