<p>A water-resistant slide fastener stringer (10) has a stringe tape (11) including face and back layers (14, 15) of resistant and water-resistant elastomer, a row of coupling elements (17) mounted on the stringer tape (11) along one longitudinal edge (13) thereof, and layers (29) of resilient and water-resistant elastomer integral with the face and back layers (14, 15) and including portions (30) covering in part said coupling elements (17) and portions (31) interconnecting adjacent ones of the coupling elements (17) and having lateral slots (32) extending transversely of the stringer tape (11). The coupling elements (17) are securely fastened to the stringer tape (11) by the resilient and water-resistant layers (14, 15, 29). The stringer (10) is kept relatively flexible by the slots (32) in the layers (29) extending across the coupling elements (17). The fastener stringer (10) further includes a resilient and water-resistant sealing fin (16) projecting laterally from said longitudinal marginal edge (13) of said stringer tape (11) and lying in the plane of said tape (11).</p> |
