<p>Mixing apparatus having two adjacent horizontal cylindrical mixing chambers (110). Each horizontal mixing chamber (110) has an inlet through which a hopper (136) introduces sand, injection pipes (106) inject catalyst into one chamber (110) and resin into the other. Each chamber (110) is provided with a longitudinally extending blade assembly (114) coupled to a motor (196) which rotates the assembly, rapidly mixing of the contents of each chamber (110) and discharging the mixtures through a discharge opening into a vertical mixing chamber (116). A second bladed shaft rapidly mixes the sand/resin and sand/catalyst mixtures and discharges the final mixture through an opening (248) into a mold box. </p> |
