LENGTH MEASURING SYSTEM

A system for measuring the length of a running material such as steel cable is proposed which includes a magnetic marker, a mark detector having three magnetic sensors, and a signal handling means. The magnetic mark is detected accurately by use of the zero crossing point detection method for accurate length measurement. Accurate measurement is assured by various compensation arrangements.
