PURPOSE:To make the clearance of a shearing gap adjustable and to obtain stable damping characteristics by providing a liner between a race and a bearing case or between the race and a bearing holder in a bearing device of a vertical rotating machine with an elastically supported bearing. CONSTITUTION:A bearing 2 supporting a shaft 1 is elastically supported with a spring 4, etc., and the vibration is absorbed by means of the shearing resistance of a shearing gap 12 between two parallel surfaces made of a bearing holder 3 and a bearing case 8. A plurality of steel balls 5 are guided by a retainer 7 and installed in a race 6 to smooth the vibration of the shaft 1. In this case, a movable plate 11 is guided and fixed to the outer periphery of the bearing holder 3, which is supported with the steel balls 5 through the race 6, and a liner 10 is installed below the race 6, thereby the clearance of the shearing gap 12 between the movable plate 11 and the bearing case 8 is kept constant. Accordingly, stable damping characteristics can be easily obtained. |
