PURPOSE:To make a small pendulum swing in a stable manner without damaging the appearance of a clock, by changing the position of the center of gravity of a clock body by the swing of the small pendulum and thereby making the clock body swing. CONSTITUTION:The titled clock is provided with a clock body 10 being supported in such a manner that it can swing freely in relation to the supporting point of a pendulum and having a time indicating part 12, a small pendulum 20 changing the position of the center of gravity of the clock body, a coil 38 and a magnet 20 for generating electromagnetically a swinging power for the small pendulum, a detecting circuit for the position of the small pendulum 20, a circuit supplying the coil 38 with a current for a prescribed time according to the detected position of the small pendulum, a circuit detecting the position whereat the clock body 10 and the small pendulum 20 are opposite to the magnet and the coil and exciting the coil 38 to make the small pendulum swing, and a timer maintaining the excitation of the coil 38 until the period of the small pendulum 20 coincides with that of the clock body 10 by preventing the return of the small pendulum 20 by the excitation of the coil 38. The position of the center of gravity of the clock body 10 is changed by the swing of the small pendulum 20 and thereby the clock body 10 is made to swing. |
