MAGNETISM DETECTING SECTION FOR MAGNETIC COMPASS

PURPOSE:To obtain high accuracy of detection output by rotating one of two magnetism detecting elements with detection outputs thereof divided into components X and Y to enable the correction of the squareness between the components X and Y. CONSTITUTION:A magnetism detecting section includes two magnetism detection elements arranged in the upper and lower part in the inside of a case. The detection elements are evenly provided with an AC excitation winding on a circular magnetic core made of a high magnetic-permeability material to ensure sufficient excitation for magnetic saturation and additionally, detection windings are applied thereon with a bobbin. The detection windings are wound on the magnetic core with the diameter of the magnetic core as reference wrapping the magnetic core diametrically along the reference running through the center thereof. These windings are carried on a printed circuit board and set in a case in such a positional relationship that the references thereof are perpendicular to each other. This enables the adjustment of the squareness of intersection between the detection outputs of the detection windings.
