PURPOSE:To eliminate the mating of respective blocks with each other and to enable the manufacture in a narrow place, by fixing longitudinal splice plates to a positioning device for splice plates, combining the blocks with the splice plates, and drilling and fixing the same. CONSTITUTION:Mounting plates 13, 13' movable vertically and laterally are mounted to a positioning device 12 for splice plates. The center reference line 4 of a block 1 is matched to a horizontal level, and outer and inner splice plates 7, 8 are mounted to the plates 13, 13' and are fixed in the positions conforming to a working drawing for the block. The operation for combining the block 1 and the plates 7, 8 is thereafter carried out. More specifically, the marked-off line 11 of the plate is made coincident with the line 4 of the block 1 and the plate 7 and the block are fixed by means of tentative bolting. Holes are drilled to the block 1 and the plate 8 in conformity with the hole positions of the plate 7, and the plates 7, 8 are fixed to the block 1 by means of knock pins and tentative bolts; further the unwelded parts of the flange and web of the block 1 are welded. The plates 7, 8 are disassembled from the block 1 and the device 12, and the block 1 is removed to the other place. |
