PURPOSE:To detect the roll gap of work rolls of a rolling mill highly accurately, by using four detecting devices incorporated in cylinder blocks placed at the inlet and outlet sides of the operating and driving sides of a four high rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The terminals for detecting the gap of work rolls of a four high mill are provided to the inlet and outlet sides of the operating and driving sides in a form as incorporated in respective cylinder blocks. The terminals 27, 29 contacting vertically with the bearing boxes 10, 11 of upper and lower back up rolls of the mill are respectively attached to guide rods 25, 26 extended respectively to the rod side and the head side of a cylinder 24. The guide rods 25, 26 are respectively supported by guide blocks 21, 22 used for guiding the rods 25, 26 slidably, and a main body 32 of a detecting sensor is connected to the piston rod 37 of a cylinder 24 by a connecting rod 35, and the cylinder 24 is connected to the lower guide rod 25 by means of connecting members 38, 39, and then, the gap between the bearing boxes 10, 11 of upper and lower back up rolls is accurately detected at the four spots. |
