METHOD OF CONTROLLING FUEL INJECTION QUANTITY

PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the fuel injection time with high accuracy and stability by fitting a stress-voltage converting element to a cam member transmitting a fuel compression movement to a plunger. CONSTITUTION:The plunger 2 rises up and the fuel within a pressure chamber 5 is compressed to a high pressure. The pressure applied to the plunger 2 is added to a roller pin 31 holding a roller 32 and a roller holder 13 supporting the roller pin 31. Since a stress in correspondence to the pressure of the fuel applied to the tip end of the plunger 2 is generated at the holding part of the roller holder 13, the thus generated stress is detected by the stress-voltage converting element 20. By this procedure, the fuel injection time can be detected with high accuracy and stability.
