PURPOSE:To enable the production of a product having good quality by detecting a casting mold, which is inserted into molten metal, electrically, and immersing the mold into the molten metal down to a prescribed depth. CONSTITUTION:A flange 9' of a casting flask 9 is brought into press contact with a hydraulic cylinder 12 of a vertical moving device 3 via an O-ring 10 provided in a hermetic flask 11 so as to conduct a clamping arm 8 with the flask 9. On the other hand, a chiller 16 is brought into press contact with a mold 13 by means of a compession spring 18 to close a cavity 14. A casting mold 4 consisting of the arm 8, the flask 9, etc. is moved downward by an actuating device 25. When the sprue 15 of the mold 13 contacts with the molten metal 7' in a crucible 7, an electrode 24, the flask 9 and the arm 8 are connected with the metal 7' and an output signal is transmitted from a detector 23 for short circuiting to the device 25. A timer relay of the device 25 operates to measure the time, and upon lapse of the set time, a hydraulic selector valve is shut off with a solenoid to stop descending of a hydraulic cylinder 3, by which the forward end 9'' of the flask 9 is maintained at the prescribed depth of the molten metal 7'. |
