PURPOSE:To increase the safety under travelling, by indicating the distance or the front and rear car distance in accordance with the variation of the travelling speed. CONSTITUTION:Upon travelling a car, the travelling speed is calculated by a microcomputor 50 from the count of speed pulse provided from a speed sensor 10. Then the safety inter-car distance corresponding to the travelling speed is calculated from a data representing the relation between the safety inter-car distance D and the travelling speed which is corrected in accordance with ON/ OFF state of a wiper switch 40 and outputted as the optimal safety inter-car distance. The front and rear inter-car distance are calculated from the output of a radar 20 and a supersonic sensor 30. While employing the optimal inter-car distance as mark (e), the inter-car distance between a front car and a rear car can be indicated on CRT 70 as bar graph (f), (g) where the resolution will drop as the increase of the travel speed. |
