The present invention relates to a method for checking the blocking function of a network-component transmission blocking device, wherein said device is used for blocking the transmission line (TX) from the network components (10) towards the network and uses a blocking function that involves applying a local signal (H) to a first node (K1). The method comprises the following steps: sampling the potential of the transmission line (TX) and sending the sampled potential back to the network component (10); activating the blocking function; transmitting a test signal message to the network through the transmission line (TX) if the blocking function is activated by the network component (10); and checking the blocking function by analysing the sampled potential sent in the network component (10).
