The generator (1) has a dual drive containing two drive machines (2,3) with at least one mechanical coupling (8,9,11,12) to the generator each and a slip ring arrangement (4), whereby the generator is mechanically coupled via a generator shaft (13b) to a slip ring shaft (13d).
