PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a braking pressure maintaining device comprising a liquid pressure maintaining valve and a check valve and facilitate the processing and assembly of the device, by placing both the valves on the same axis and providing an integrated seat for the valves. CONSTITUTION:When a solenoid 11 is excited, a plunger 12 is attracted rightward so that a poppet 16 which serves as a liquid pressure maintaining valve is brought into pressure contact with a seat 17 through a rod 15. As a result, pressure chambers 19, 20 are disconnected from each other so that a master cylinder and a wheel cylinder are disconnected from each other. In that state, the liquid pressure of the wheel cylinder is kept unchanged even if that of the master cylinder falls. A ball 27, which serves as a check valve, is housed in the seat 17 and urged by a spring 28 in such a direction as to cut off the communication passage between the pressure chambers 21, 20. When the pressure difference between the pressure chambers 21, 20 has become stronger than the force of the spring 28, the ball valve 27 opens to balance the pressure of the wheel cylinder and the master cylinder. |
