PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced audio signal of high quality by fitting a rotary cylinder magnetic head as well as a recording and reproducing magnetic head for a video signal, and using this magnetic head for the recording and reproduction of a carrier frequency-modulated by the audio signal. CONSTITUTION:An audio signal inputted to an input terminal 7 is amplified by an amplifier 8, and a modulator 9 imposes frequency modulation on a carrier adjusted to 1.3MHz. The output of the modulator 9 is applied to a rotary transformer 11 through a switch circuit 10, transmitted to the side of a rotary cylinder 1, and applied to audio heads 5a and 5b. The head gaps of the audio heads 5a and 5b slant by tens of degrees respectively, so magnetic patterns slanting at 45 degrees are recorded on the tracks of a magnetic tape. At this time, the audio heads 5a and 5b are so fitted that the difference in inclination between the magnetic patterns becomes large where they overlap the video signal. |
