PURPOSE:To obtain a printer small in a size, low in cost and capable of clearly printing a character, a mark or a figure, by selectively driving a hammer in relation to a position sending a recording medium to a direction crossing the axis of a platen at right angles to strike a blow against the platen. CONSTITUTION:A hammer 6 imparted with a driving pulse is respectively field toward a platen 6 against the force of a hammer support leaf spring 28 and a hammer head 27 bends a partition member 6b through a recording medium 33 to strike a blow against the protrusion 6a of the platen 6. An ink adhered to the protrusion 6a is transferred to the recording medium in a rectangular form of which the side ratio is various and delicate. By this mechanism, a character or a mark constituted by five lateral dots and seven vertical dots is subjected to three-figure printing by one hammer head 27 and the recording medium 33 is printed by one line printing data. In the next step, when it is sensed that the hammer head reaches the next printing line on the recording medium 3 by the timing signals of a first timing sensor 21 and a third timing sensor 25, one line printing is carried out in the same way as mentioned above and the printing of each printing line is carried out successively hereinafter in the same way. |
