PURPOSE:To form a fibrous food having good taste and improved nutrition, by blending an edible organic acid with an edible alkali metal or alkaline earth metal carbonate and an edible fiber as essential components and, if necessary, a sweetener and an additive such as a medicine for promoting nutrition, etc. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous food comprising an edible organic acid, an edible alkali metal or alkaline earth metal carbonate, acidic carbonate or basic carbonate and an edible fiber as essential components and, if necessary, proper amounts of a sweetener, a fragrance imparter, a coloring matter, vitamin, mineral, amino acid, other nutrition enriching agent, seasoning or a medicine for promoting nutrition. Calcium salt is preferably as the edible alkali metal or alkaline earth metal carbonate from the point of view of calcium supply. Crystallite cellulose, gum arabic, alginic acid, edible fiber derived from vegetable or microorganism or a dried vegetable tissue containing a large amount of these substances may be cited as the edible fiber. |
