PURPOSE: A vertically moving welding machine is provided to move the moving device having a welding rod up and down in a stable manner along a vertically positioned guide rail and to prevent the moving device from sliding out of the vertically positioned guide rail, so that the quality and reliability of the welded products are improved. CONSTITUTION: A vertically moving welding machine comprises a guide rail(10) fixedly positioned at one side of a junction part(6) of a workpiece(5) standing up vertically and having a pair of rods(r1,r2) arranged in parallel with a predetermined interval therebetween and a bracket(11) for fixing both end parts of the rods, a moving device(20) for welding the junction part while moving up and down along the guide rail(10) and having a welding rod(22) and a plurality of guide bushes(23) surrounding the rods(r1,r2), a rack gear(13) formed longitudinally on either one of the rods(r1,r2) of the guide rail(10), a driving motor(24) installed in the moving device to be contact with the rack gear, and a driving gear(31) axially connected with the driving motor(24), wherein as the driving gear moves up and down with relation to the rack gear according to the rotation direction of the driving motor, the moving device moves vertically along the guide rail and the welding rod fixed with the clamp(21) welds the junction part.
