PURPOSE:To have a shift arm with good operating characteristic by supporting a shift fork retainer on the casing side rotatably and by retaining the shift fork rotatably at this retainer. CONSTITUTION:When a remote control cable 35 is operated, a shift arm 40 swings in compliance with the motion of this cable. The amount of displacement of a shift fork retainer 42 and a shift fork 43 changes proportionally to the stroke of cable 35 within its specific range mating with the reference swinging range of said arm 40, to rotate the propeller 30 forward or backward. When the cable 35 makes further stroke, the swing of the arm 40 will turn the fork 43 through retainer's rotation with respect to a support bolt 41 and the fork's rotation with respect to the retainer 42. Accordingly to swing of the arm 40 is transmitted to the fork 43 only through a rotary couple to secure good operating characteristic without requiring any particular enhanced accuracy of components. |
