In the vacuum moulding process for producing casting moulds from binder-free moulding sand, the mould box filled with moulding sand must be coupled to, or uncoupled from, the low pressure mains of the moulding plant. This process is to be performed as automatically as possible in highly mechanised plants. For this purpose, a valve is used with a pneumatically actuatable valve piston arranged in its valve housing and with its guide portion (3), guided on a sleeve (4), bearing a sealing component (5) at a radial spacing on the head end. The sealing component (5) leads with the guide portion (3) out of the valve housing, abuts sealingly on the mould box, and simultaneously frees the passage to the low pressure pipe union (1). <IMAGE>
