PURPOSE:To enhance the effect of noise suppression and as well to reduce pressure loss of air stream, by using such an arrangement that a flow passage pipe comprising a noise suppressing chamber and a sonic wave permeable material is connected with a plurality of sheet-like elements arrayed in the flow passage pipe axially thereof. CONSTITUTION:Fluid medium directing from a connecting pipe 4 to a flow passage pipe 4, including noises, maintains its swirl flow, without fierce turbulent air stream being resulted, even while the straight forward motion of the medium is hindered by twisted plates 7, and therefore, passes through a plurality of flow channels defined by the flow passage pipe 1 and the twisted plates 7 without any appreciable pressure drops being brought about. This air stream comes to the rear end of the flow passage pipe 1, and then is discharged into another connecting pipe 4. Noises in a whole sonic range within the air stream is inhibited to move straight-forward by means of the twisted plates 7, then is directed toward the flow passage pipe 1, and further, easily permeates through the flow passage pipe 1 made of sonic wave permeable material, thereby noise is suppressed in a sound absorbing chamber, a resonance chamber, an expansion chamber, etc., which are arranged outside of the flow passage pipe 1. |
