Devices for the electrical determination of consumption which have two or three sensors, in particular in heaters, are not reliable. A device is therefore proposed which is rendered safe against variation or the accumulation of heat by arranging to switch in, starting from a certain accumulation temperature, an additional circuit which simulates a temperature of the heat consumer that is higher than that determined by the sensor. In particular, however, it is also possible to use a thermostatic switch having two or more different switching stages or having a sliding switching point.
