PURPOSE:To obtain a discharge lamp with its higher reliability while preventing crosstalk discharge by preventing water, etc., from sticking to the surface of a luminous surrounding vessel by coating the outer surface of the luminous surrounding vessel with an insulating resin film. CONSTITUTION:A surrounding vessel internal body 2 comprising a transparent glass material is inserted into the inside of a surrounding vessel external body 1 made of the same material having a curved surface, allowing both bodies to be piled in layers. A groove 3 is constructed on the curved surface of the surrounding vessel internal body 2 so as to form a continuous discharge passage, and a pair of electrodes 4, 5 are provided on the both end parts of said groove. A fluorescent substance is applied on the inner surface of the surrounding vessel external body 1 and the outer surface of the surrounding vessel inner body 2. Further, an insulating resin film 13 comprising polyester is deposited on the outer surface of the lamp surrounding vessel external body 1 by means of a dip method. The film thickness of the resin film 13 required to completely prevent crosstalk discharge will do with 0.2mm. if the film surface is clear in a state where it repels water. |
