PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned engine quiet further with high durability in which a spark plug is explosively ignited only at starting of the engine, thereafter combustion is continued without causing the necessity for using the spark plug. CONSTITUTION:A heat source supply part 11 for continuous combustion is provided on the internal wall of a cylinder 1 in the vicinity of an expansion start part after compression in a border between the first expansion chamber 9a and its preceding expansion chamber 9b. A residual flame of combustion in the preceding chamber 9b flows in the heat source part 11 for continuous combustion acting as a flame propagation port and is guided to the chamber 9a behind and unburned gas in the chamber is continuously and successively fired and burned to perform continuous combustion without causing the necessity for ignition by a spark plug 10, in this way, action such as suction-compression-explosion-expansion-exhaust is smoothly repeated, and an output can be taken out to the outside from an output shaft 14.
