<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the stop and the change of the direction of a running truck and to automate assembly, by a method wherein a running truck on which a car body is placed is run along with movement of a moving member in a moving direction, and the running truck is disconnectably connected to the moving member. CONSTITUTION:A car body is conveyed in a manner to be placed on two support members 52 of a running body 2. Namely, in a clamp mechanism 16 of a conveying device 8, through contraction of a cylinder 22, a pin 19 of a running truck 2 is nipped between two grasping pieces 26 and 27, a moving member 13 is moved by means of a driving motor 18, and the running truck 2 is run. The running truck 2 is positioned in a direction-change position, and after clamping of the pin 19 by means of the two grasping pieces 26 and 27 through expansion of the cylinder 22, the direction of the running truck 2 is changed. Thereafter, each pin 19 is clamped by a clamping mechanism 16 in a different conveying device to move a moving member 13, and the longitudinal direction of a car body is changed from orientation, in which the longitudinal direction crosses a conveying direction 3 at right angles, to orientation where the longitudinal direction is coincided with the conveying direction.</p> |
