Servo brake with two brake shoes

In order to make it possible to manufacture a servo brake with two brake shoes for motor-vehicle trailers with overrunning brakes and automatic reverse economically from standard components of two-shoe brakes, symmetrical brake shoes and guiding members for the latter are used, the brake shoes being guided with rollers on symmetrical carriers. The carriers are each pivotably mounted on a bearing pin secured on a brake plate and are supported at the other end against a symmetrically double-sided expander cam rotatably mounted on the brake plate, and have two webs, between which the webs of the T-shaped brake shoes are arranged and, supported against rollers, are displaceable approximately peripherally to the centre of the brake plate. In the vicinity of the points of contact with the rollers, the web of the T-shaped brake shoes is provided with recesses and the outer peripheral length of the brake shoes is such that they can be displaced peripherally on the brake plate at a circumferential angle of 14-15 DEG until they come to rest against an anchor secured on the brake plate. <IMAGE>
