PURPOSE:To make it possible to set a desired position of a paper sheet accurately at a printing position, by counting the number of sprocket holes in the sheet when the paper sheet with the sprocket holes is set on a printing apparatus. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch 25 is turned ON, a counter in CPU is reset to zero at a step S1. After the insertion of a paper sheet is detected by a paper sheet detecting device 2 at a step S2, a driving roller 4 is rotated by a motor 32 to feed the paper sheet. The sheet is fed to a hole detecting device 9 by guides 6 and 8, and the hole detecting device 9 is operated at a step S4. At a step S5 the number of sprocket holes is counted, and simultaneously a sprocket roller 10 starts rotation. At a step S6, it is decided whether or not the front end of the paper sheet is set at a printing position. When the content of the counter becomes equal to a value obtained by subtracting the number of the holes found between the hole detecting device 9 and a printing head 7 from the number set beforehand by a dial switch 24, an advance is made to a step S7, whereat the feeding of the sheet is stopped. |
